Sivapuri National Park Camping Trekking - 8 Days

Sivapuri National Park Camping Trekking is popular for camping trekking around Kathmandu valley. Which commence at Budhanilkantha with pleasant views of the central and eastern mountain ranges, heavenly views of sunrise and sunset and is good introduction to Nepalese rural life. It is the second highest hill around Kathmandu with its peak reaching to 2,730m.

Sivapuri National Park Camping Trekking also called short and easy hiking trails around the Kathmandu Valley. It is also called Kathmandu Rim Valley Trek or Nagarkot trek. This hiking starts from Kathmandu to Sundarijal by drive to take either private car or local bus and then hike to Chisapani. Here, you will be enjoying the real boon of nature being away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Shivapuri National Park

Shivapuri National Park  is 9th National park of Nepal. It lies in the country’s mid-hills on the northern fringe of the Kathmandu valley and named after Shivapuri Peak of 2,732 m (8,963 ft) altitude. It was establish on 2002 AD. Here you can observe different vegetation/fauna and wildlife with beautiful views of mountain and nature.

Day 1
Arrival in Kathmandu (1,400m)

Our team member will be waiting outside the airport terminal a few meters from the exit door. Please check your name at Showcard. He will bring you to hotel in Kathmandu. The drive from the airport to the hotel is around 20 minutes. After refreshment, we will brief your plan more visibly.

Day 2
Kathmandu (1400m)

Population: – counted nationwide in AD. 2011, Kathmandu had households: 434344 & population: 1744240.

Major Place to see: -BodhnathStupa, Pashupatinath, syombhunath, Kathmandu durbar square, patan durbar square, Bhaktapur durbar square etc.

Day 3
Kathmandu – Shivapuri Danda (2732 mtr) 5 to 6hrs

Drive from Kathmandu. To Budhanilikantha, site of a huge monolithic statue of Lord Vishnu, one of the valley’s most photographed sites. From here trail ascents into the Shivpuri hills. Pass the interesting monastery(Nagi Gompa) and climb uphill through lush oak and rhododendron forests to Shivapuri where we camp for the nights.

Day 4
Shivapuri – Chisopani – Dhap (2150M) 5 hrs

An uphill climb of 45 minutes takes us to the top of Shivapuri. from the ridge there are fabulous Himalayan mountain views ranging from Everest to Manaslu. The trail gradually descent through beautiful forests with different kinds of birds and flowers. From the camp site there are good view of mountain and Kathmandu Valley.

Day 5
Dhap – Nagarkot (2163M) 5 To 6hrs

An interesting trail takes us to the hill retreat of Nagarkot, perched on a ridge 32 km east of Kathmandu. It commands sweeping views of the Himalayas. Five of the world’s ten highest peaks, Everest, Lhotse, Choyu, Makalu and Manaslu are visible from here. Nagarkot is also a popular spot to watch sunrise and sunset.

Day 6
Nagarkot – Bhaktapur – Kathmandu(4HRS)

The trail continues descend through terraces and villages to Bhaktapur, a beautiful ancient city which exudes a sense of the traditional past. We stroll around the uncrowned streets of this medieval city before driving back to Kathmandu.

Day 7
Free day in Kathmandu.
